GRACE’S BIO

Grace has been one of the most consistent and dominant American long jumpers over the last eight years.  Surprisingly, this almost never came to be, as she hung up her spikes after finishing her collegiate career at Cal-Berkeley, never even qualifying for the NCAA Championships.  Then in 2000, after spending two years away from the sport, she met legendary athlete and coach, Al Joyner.  He convinced her to come back to the sport she loved and missed, and Grace has not looked back since!

In 2001, Grace won her first national title at the US Indoor Championships, and has gone on to win three US Outdoor National Championships and has been a member of seven national teams, including two Olympic Games.  In her first Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, she finished 10th in the final.  Last year at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, she improved her finish to 8th place, and looks to continue that success this year.
